Erik was and is

(He's squinting into the sun here.)

Dear folks,

Andree here. All of you, all of us tried so hard, but Erik had other adventures to go after.

Erik left us at 7:22 am yesterday, after a brave fight but a peaceful passing. Nancy was with him, as were Mom and Dad (Terry and Donna); sister Brynn, brothers Sean and Hans, and myself; and Adam Baker, Andy Rotchford, Dean Paris, and Mike McGraw. He was home in Washougal.

These days you don't often get the privilege to send someone you love on their way on their terms. We had the chance to watch his face grow completely peaceful as he lay in bed, and hear birds sing and his hound dogs bark in the blue and golden morning. He's free now. And probably already putting together his next big thing.

Thank you, all of you, for the love, the support, the prayers, the emails. I mean to keep this blog going for a little while yet, so watch this space. It was my honor and privilege to do his for you, and I thank you for the support it has given me particularly.

We Liningers are all so saddened by this great loss. We are with you in spirit and know he could not have left this earth by a more supportive family. Wishing you all the best.

With love,

One who knew no bsrriers, only limitless possibilities...
We knew him such a comparatively short time but were profoundly changed.

So, he's traveling to new heights...
No doubt, with a zeal and spirit stronger than any gone before.
We wish him Bon Voyage and hope you, his beloved family, soon feel the warmth of his gaze from above.

'Til then and beyond, wishing you strength and peace,

Marianne and Rick Kay

I love you my brother, my encourager, my friend, my inspiration. Thank you for all the years of pants filling laughter!!! I will miss you the rest of my life, but will never forget you. I will never say goodbye either, because we both know we'll meet again in the next big adventure.

Erik my friend,
I mourn for the loss that mankind has lost a gifted and talented human being. My heart aches for Nancy, Lyric & Yager, without question your pain is the deepest. Yet being a Purdom comes with a special purpose, I know the three of you will have Erik in your veins with each heart pump, and in your lungs with each breath, he will be with you all your days. Erik will continue to inspire, challenge, nurture and love you from a higher vantage point, one greater than the high point he commanded here on earth. Erik Purdom was a great man who loved so many, angered so few and will be missed by most. Thank you for making me a better person in life, teaching me how to face all of our inevitable fates, and for being one of the most decent, brilliant and wonderful people I have ever met. I love you Erik & Family. We send our prayers to those who feel the void as my family and I do. God Bless you BrotherMan.
In deepest sympathy
Brett & Cheryl Ankrom and the kids.

Dear Eric and Purdom Family,
Sitting here its hard to gather the words to say about such an awesome man. He has done way more in his short life than men or women twice even three times his age could ever achieve. Eric was a priceless friend and he will be so very missed. I'm so very honored to have grown up with all of you Purdom kids. You all have a very special place in my heart. The memories I have of Eric are priceless and will forever be in
my heart. My love goes out to all of you and my help is only a phonecall away. God Bless you and Keep you always in His loving arms. Love you all, Teresa Rupp (James).

I loved Erik's wit and humor. What a great guy! It has been scientifically established that everything in the universe is energy, and that energy cannot be created nor destroyed. Energy can only be transfered into another form. Erik ,as all of us our a part of this energy, we come from cosmic dust. Erik's brilliance, imagination and dynamic thirst for life will always exist, it's an established scientific truism. Don't despair, Erik will always be there in one form or another, Erik's conciousness cannot do anything else but survive...that's the way it's always been, and will always be.
